What the HK is on Viki's Needles?

It seems like the more time I have, the less actual knitting I get done. Or, at least, that is how it felt this past weekend. We ended up with a four-day weekend with a lot more around the house time then expected. My youngest came down with Fifth Disease on Friday (one of the common childhood illnesses - mild flu symptoms followed by a rash starting on the face) and we decided to keep her home even though she wasn't likely contagious by the time we figured out what was wrong. Even with all that time sitting around playing video games and watching movies, my knitting didn't seem to advance very much.

Truth be told, I probably did quite a bit of knitting, but the pattern I am currently trying to design ended up being ripped back three times. So not a lot to show for my efforts, I guess.  I think I've got it worked out now, so I'll press on.

That being said, I do have a few things to share since the last time I updated here.

I finished my Ode to Frogs and the Pond socks in the club colour Flicker in Artisan Sock. These socks were part of the January/February HK knitalong on Ravelry. They may have been late, but I'm proud of myself for getting them done instead of just moving on to something else and adding them to the WIP pile.

Plus, my son thinks they're gorgeous and really pushed me to get them done. He wanted to see them on. I couldn't disappoint the boy.

I have also continued to work on my socks for the March/April KAL on Ravelry. These are my tribute socks, Old Joe, in the club colour Sedge in Artisan Sock. Now that I've got the pattern memorized, progress should be a little quicker on these and I'm fairly confident that I will get them done by the end of the month.

BTW, it's not too late to join in and participate in the current KAL. You can get more information on our Ravelry group.

PS: if you are in the Seattle area this weekend, make sure to check out Vogue Knitting Live, April 5-7. You can find Hazel Knits in booths #406/408.
