Come see me at Stitches West!

Only two more "wake-ups" until I'm down in San Jose California for Stitches West. I can hardly wait!!

The most exciting part of this trip is the Yarn Release party sponsored by Bobbin's Nest Studio. Erin, the owner of Bobbin's Nest is totally my idol when it comes to a independent business owner. Not only is she savvy, warm and spunky, she knows how to capitalize on opportunities and run with it. I'm so lucky to consider her as a colleague, client and friend. And since she's my friend (hi Erin!) I'm hoping she won't mind that I shamelessly stole her blog post for Hazel Knits: (please note - this pertains to Bobbin's Nest Studios hours, contact, info, etc.)

Bobbin's Nest Stitches West Schedule

Have you heard? Stitches West will be at the Santa Clara Convention Center, February 21-24! If you have never heard of this mecca of all things knitting/ crochet/ spinning, then let me be the first to tell you what it's all about! Stitches is a convention held once a year on the West coast where retailers share their wares! It's as amazing as it is overwhelming, but you can escape the madness at the 'Nest'. We have exclusives that you won't find at Stitches!

Thursday, 2/21 and Friday, 2/22: We will be open our regular hours, 11-7pm. Stop by after Stitches and show off your purchases!

Saturday 2/23: We will be open from 2-9pm, which is exciting in and of itself, but wait! there's more!
-We are sponsoring the 'KnitWhits: Patterns and Kits for Colorful Knitters' booth at Stitches, so please visit Tina and see the new designs she has to offer!

South West Trading Company, one of our beloved yarn companies, is including our postcard in the 2000 SWTC goodie bags (full of yummy yarn goodness!) they will be handing out at Stitches! They will have a lot of samples on display in their booth and we have the yarn! Incidentally, SWTC is the producer of 'SWTC Love' our Yarn of the Month!

Saturday night from 6:30-9pm we will be hosting an exclusive "Release Party" complete, but not limited to:

- Exclusive hand-dyed yarn from Hazel Knits! We are the ONLY store in California to carry this wonderful hand-dyed sock yarn. If the name sounds familiar, Hazel Knits has been raved about and knitted into 'Monkey' socks by YarnHarlot and gloves/mittens of her own design by WendyKnits. The designer, Wendee Shulsen-Wienker, is coming from Seattle, WA and will be bringing special surprises just for our customers! Limited edition signature Bobbin's Nest Studio products will be announced and available! Some, but not all, of the festivities are listed below to wet your whistle. :)

Goodie bags (quantities limited)
Raffles, games and prizes
Guest designers (come and see what all of the fuss is about)
Parade of Stars- bring the first thing you ever knitted, crocheted, or sewed and collect your gold star!
Champagne and light refreshments

Sunday 2/24: We will be open for limited hours (1-5pm) on Sunday for Stitches patrons. Show us your Stitches ticket stub and get 10% off your Sunday product purchase!

Now, it's supposed to be a surprise, however I want to entice you with a sneak peak of the Limited Edition Bobbin's Nest colorway. I absolutely love it!

This is a baby sock sample - to get the full skein you have to come to the Yarn Release party - OR - Call Bobbin's Nest Studio to order. 408.246.1121

Jeni Chase (of Knitty fame) has designed a stunning sock pattern to compliment this yarn. Please be sure to ask for it when you order.

In addition to all of my "standard" colorways, I'll be bringing down 40+ skeins of my "Rogues" yarns to Bobbin's Nest - one of a kinds in a full spectrum of tinted solid colorways. These will help me shape my spring line-up. We're talking peaches, plums, mosses, roses, lemongrass and everything in between.

In the meantime, I've enlisted my wonderful MIL to help me take pictures of other new colorways for my etsy site. She's a photography buff and is trying to mediate the tiff I've had with my camera as of late. Stay tuned for Cami Chic, Red Mill, Red Carpet, Passion Flower, and more... on the way!

:( The sneak peek of Rogue pic isn't working for me. I was really bummed to miss the release party. We stopped by the Bobbin's Nest and I picked up Baroness & Chocolatier earlier in the day since we had family obligations & a 200 mile drive home in the pouring rain during the party hours. The yarn I did get is beautiful! I'm looking forward to seeing the new colorways!
