December Hazel Knits Sale

It's official Hazel Knits is having a sale in our online store Monday, December 10, 2012 at 12:00 pm (noon) Pacific Time.

While you're waiting for the sale to start you can preview (but not purchase) what is going to be included. This section is currently a work in progress. More items may/will be added as they are finalized.

Click here to see the preview. Note: for about one hour prior to the sale the preview section will go dark as we transition to the live sale.

In the meantime, let me provide a little more information about what will be available.

Knotty/Naughty skeins will be on sale for 20% off until the end of December or while quantities last. Prices as marked. Several colours are available in Entice, Artisan, Lively and Piquant Lite.

Rogues will be on sale for 10% off until the end of December or while quantites last. Discounts will be applied in the cart at checkout. What are Rogues? Rogues are one of a kind (or small batch) colours that result from experimentation or happy accidents in the studio. These have previously only been available at trunk shows.

Entice Sets are sets of multiple skeins of various size (formerly knotty skeins that have had their knots removed) that were dyed together as a batch. Each listing shows a picture of the label on the set bag showing you exactly what you get - how many skeins, their sizes and their total weight.

Also, each run of color was dyed on the same day with the same dye stock, split down into batches of the equivalent of three skeins (what fits into our pots.) Skein sets are about as interchangeable as they can be. (Double up for sweater quantities.) These sets are 20% off the regular Entice price. Priced as marked.

These Entice Sets are still being loaded on the website. You can expect to see:

Low Tide
Vamp
Rick’s Cognac
Atmosphere
Woodland
Laguna
Ruby Love
Hoppy Blonde
Sassafras
Portobello

Note: We will be able to combine shipping on sale items (if you check out more than once during the same day) but we will not be able to combine your items with any December club shipments. Sorry!

And since no blog post is complete without pictures, how about a few peeks at some of the Rogues that will be listed:

Quick One-Skein Gift Ideas

Okay, sure it's already December, but that doesn't mean there isn't enough time to churn out a couple more quick gifts (I hope I'm right about this since I still have a few more things I want to finish in the next three weeks).

While, technically, socks are usually a one-skein project, for most of us there is nothing quick about them so it is time to look at other accessories. I've done a little research and come up with a few quick one-skein project ideas that might help you get your gift knitting done.

Staci Perry of Very Pink's Learn to Knit a Spiral Scarf would be quick to knit up in DK Lively (shown in Vamp). She even has a video tutorial on her website that can help you keep the project on track.

How about Violeta fingerless mitts knit in Artisan Sock (shown in Violeta) from Mel Goodale of Stick Chick Knits? Quick and pretty!

I'm loving cowls right now and the Anchorage cowl knit in Artisan Sock (shown in Seattle KAL, I think) from Jennifer Chase-Rappaport of Rocket Boy Knits is in my queue. Hello! It has beads. Definitely gift worthy. And all of Jennifer's patterns are currently on sale for 25% off. So it's kind of like getting a gift for yourself too.

Need something quicker? How about an ornament? My Tiny Leaves Mittens in Artisan Sock (shown in Cherry Fizz) certainly knit up quickly and look very sweet on a tree or topping a special gift. (by Viki Wallner of Ruby in Stitches).

Hopefully my ideas will help you get through the next few weeks. Now it's time to get my needles going and get a couple more things done.
